The 44th Golden Fox Trophy, traditional women's Alpine skiing (slalom) event, took place in Maribor, Slovenia on January 12 & 13, 2008. The Golden Fox (Zlata lisica) was organised superbly, and will stay in a pleasant memory to most competitors, especially the winners.

In the big finals Austria's Nicole Hosp won before Slovak Veronika Zuzulova, third was sixth from the first run, Austrian Marlies Schield.

Strenuousness and mood was praised by Maribor's mayor Franc Kangler, who said that successfully carried out Golden Fox is a base for a successful Maribor's candidature for the Winter Universiade 2013.
Golden Fox will be back between January 10 and 11, 2009, when the slopes of Pohorje will again host the best female skiers of the world on the 45th Golden Fox Trophy.
