Slovenian Student Union fully supports the candidature of the Slovenian University Sports Association for organisation of the 26th Winter Universiade in Maribor 2013.

The Universiade will be an excellent starting point for the youth for developing their professional sports career; either as competitors, coaches, officials, referees, etc.

It also offers the opportunity for a wide participation of the students to help as volunteers. We believe that Universiades serve as an additional motivator for the universities to improve the field of sport in higher education as a part of the academic culture. We also consider this important international sporting event as a promotion of tolerance and fair play among the youth and a promotion of sport as a healthy life-style.

Slovenian students are among the best in the world when it comes to achievements at Winter Universiades. We are certain, that we share the success at organising the Winter Universiade 2013, so we are looking forward to cooperating in this project.
