CANDIDATURE QUESTIONNAIRE

 

General terms

 

1. Which FISU Universiade do you wish to organise - a summer or a winter Universiade and for which year?

2. Which city do you propose to organise the Universiade?
3. Give general information about the candidate city - its size, population, climate (temperature, humidity, rainfall, etc.) altitude and reasons to support its candidature to organise the Universiade.
4. What dates are proposed for the Universiade, including the Opening and Closing Ceremonies?
5. Which public and sports authorities of your country support your National University Sports Federation in its candidature for this event?

6. Do any laws, customs or regulations exist in the candidate city or country which would limit, restrict or interfere with the organisation of the Universiade in any way? The same treatment must be granted to teams and individuals from all countries entitled to enter the Universiade.

8. Do you have an organisation of sufficient strength and experience to organise the Universiade in the candidate city?

9. What other important international events in the proposed sports have been organised in the candidate city?

10. Does your country have a sufficient number of officials, referees and judges to conduct the Universiade in accordance with the FSI technical rules? If not, how will you provide these officials?

 

Sport Facilities

 

11. a) What facilities (stadiums, arenas, pools, fields, courses, practice venues, etc.) already exist or are foreseen in the candidate city?

11. b) What facilities for the Universiade (stadiums, arenas, pools, fields, courses, practice venues, etc.) are required to be built in the candidate city? Attach a description of the projects with their funding and their planning.
11. c) What are the distances between these facilities and the proposed accommodations for competitors and officials?

12. Do you possess top-quality equipment, in accordance with the International Sports Federations' rules? If not, what equipment, by discipline, can you provide for the athletes for the competitions and trainings? Can you guarantee that all timing and management systems are in accordance with the requirements of the International Federations?

 

Accommodation and Dining


13. What kind of village or other accommodations will be provided for competitors and officials? What facilities will be available? Where will they be located?

14. What kind of dining will be provided for competitors and officials?

15. Which hotels do you propose for the technical delegates, judges, referees, FISU representatives and VIP s?

16. What kind of restaurants will be provided for the technical delegates, judges, referees and FISU representatives?

17. Do you have enough hotels and accommodations for visitors who will attend the events?

 

Transportation


18. Does your city have an international airport and train station? Attach a description of the international airway connections.

19. Does your candidate city have comprehensive air and rail transportation facilities? Join a description of the international airways connections.

20. Can the city guarantee that the local transportation facilities (the provision of cars and buses) will be sufficient? Can you guarantee the number of vehicles as required by FISU?

21. What kind of transportation will be provided for competitors and officials?
22. What arrangements can you already foresee in order to reduce the travel expenses of the delegations as much as possible?

 

Medical Services


23. Are you able to manage the anti-doping control in accordance with FISU regulations and the FSIs concerned? Which laboratories do you plan on using?

24. Can you assure sufficient medical assistance for the entire organisation? What services will you provide (first aid, hospitals, ambulances, helicopters etc.)? Which recognised organisation will guarantee this assistance?

 

Security


25. What security system will you install to ensure the safety of the participants at the competition and accommodation sites? How will you control the different entrances?

26. What collaboration will you undertake with the candidate city police services, and the country police?

 

Press, Radio and Television

27. a) What arrangements can be made for world-wide television and radio broadcasting and for the written, electronic and photographic coverage of the Universiade?

27. b) What television company is interested in guaranteeing the broadcasting and the production of the international signal as stipulated in the regulations of FISU and in the attribution contract?

 

Finances


28. How will the Universiade be financed; by the central Government, the Federal Government, the State, the Province, the Municipality etc, and/or through private funds? What will be the budget foreseen for the Organization of the Universiade?

29. What will be the cost of stay proposed for the athletes and the officials per day, per person?

30. What arrangements can you already foresee to help emerging nations participate?
